Welcome to Tanzania! This is the perfect itinerary for those who love wildlife viewing, appreciate unique experiences and pristine wilderness.

Your experiences in Ruaha and Katavi will be an exciting and varied mix of old world safari and remote game viewing. You then have the option to continue to Mahale, where you will trek in search of the park’s famous
chimpanzees, swim in Lake Tanganyika and relax on the beach. As always, you have specialized guides throughout your journey who will not only assist you with your travels across this diverse land, but will make you feel as if you have come home.

Oct 30th Arrival into Dar

Welcome to East Africa! Upon your arrival into Dar es Salaam Int’l Airport and clearing Customs & Immigration formalities, you will collect your luggage and proceed through to the general pick up area where you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel.

One nights at the Serena Hotel in standard rooms on bed and breakfast basis
 

Oct 31st Depart for Ruaha Nat’l Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Ruaha National Park. On landing in Ruaha, you will be welcomed by your driver guide and immediately embark on a game drive en-route to Kigelia Ruaha Camp, arriving just in time for lunch. After lunch is served under the shade of the sausage trees, enjoy an afternoon siesta, familiarize yourself with the camp’s surroundings, or relax in the cool lounge and socialise with the other guests. After tea and coffee, hop into your safari vehicle in search of the fabulous game that inhabit the Ruaha Nat’l Park. Return to camp just as the moon replaces the sun and enjoy a piping hot shower before sitting down to dinner.

Nov 3rd Depart for Katavi Nat’l Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Katavi. Upon landing, a Chada Katavi representative will be waiting to greet you and whisk you off to your home away from home for the next three nights. As the camp is so hard to spot, it’s not rare to see elephants roaming around camp. After lunch, escape the heat of the afternoon in the library or spotting game from your private deck. Following afternoon tea you will be off to explore Tanzania’s third largest park. As the sun begins to set, return to camp where a three course dinner and a chilled glass of wine await you.

Nov 7th Depart for the USA or Mahale Nat’l Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred by boat to the airstrip for your Safari Airlink flight from Mahale to Dar, at which time you will connect with your international flight back to the USA.

For those continuing on to Mahale:

This morning you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight from Katavi to Mahale.

Three nights at Greystoke Mahale in safari tents with all meals and game package included.
 

Nov 10th Depart for the US

After breakfast, you will be transferred by boat to the airstrip for your Safari Airlink flight from Mahale to Dar, at which time you will connect with your international flight back to the USA.
