SOJOURNERS' TRAVELER EXPERIENCES

Authentic Cultural Connections

Global Sojourns' clients (and GSGC supporters), the Loackers, traveled with us to Zambia. In honor of Lynn's birthday, we arranged a special afternoon for Lynn and her family to meet with girls from the Chipembele Girls Club. For the Loackers, it was an firsthand opportunity to see projects supporting girls empowerment and education in action!

"Our visit with the girls and Aunty Eunice was a special moment, not the least because one of our guides, Andrew, gave an impromptu and impassioned speech to the girls telling them they could do everything - and more - than boys could and exhorting them to be the best they could be... I can't thank both of you enough for this wonderful gift you gave me and my family. There is a little hollow in my heart having left Africa."  Lynn Loacker

Experiences such as these offer our clients an insight, perspective and respect for local people and culture that other visitors seldom experience. Visit our blog to see more pictures and read about this special day.

 Namibia's San Bushmen vs. Wild

Once derided as backwards, the San tribe's love of nature is now bringing them real rewards, as well as offering insight into how humans can survive with little or no water in the unforgiving Namibian desert. Read here to learn what the San people can teach us about climate change, and how responsible tourism is helping to preserve their cultural identity and way of life.

How big IS Africa?

People often underestimate just how large Africa is.The Times Atlas put it in perspective by transposing other countries over it. Africa is larger than China, the USA, Western Europe, India, Argentina and the British Isles... combined!

This is why we recommend that you visit Africa by region!
