A Trip Like This Does Not Come Around Often!

The travelers who went on the Giving Circle trip this last August are still abuzz with thoughts of the incredible experience they had in Zambia and South Africa. Even though we think all of our trips are special, something magical came together during this trip where the travelers were granted rare insight into the lives of incredible locals making a difference in their communities mixed with a great safari opportunity.

From meeting micro-loan recipients to relaxing on the deck of the Ichobezi Houseboat, check out the summary and slide-show of all the varied experiences. Check out the Blog for the travelers' personal perspectives and experiences.

While we mostly focus on customized itineraries, we also offer group trips in response to interest from our clients (and because they are so much fun!). Right now we are mapping out potential trips and would like to gauge your opinion. If you're interested in joining in on a Global Sojourns' group trip, please take one minute and answer our poll about where you would like to travel. Thanks!

A Group of Friends Take on a Kenyan Adventure

Friends Eugenie, Shruti, Shawna and Lauren enjoyed a Kenyan diversion after a medical mission in Uganda this past August.

Click to read about their favorite moments of the trip, including encounters with elephants, lions, cheetahs, their lodges and the landscape that provided inspiration for over 2,000 photos.

"Thank you Priscilla for making our safari adventure a dream come true! We look forward to booking with you next year!"

Each year, tour operators, suppliers and media come together from around the world to attend the Adventure Travel Trade Association World Summit.

After atten
ding the summit in Quebec City this past October, Priscilla lets us in on what people are talking about within the industry:
  • Destruction of the environment, especially of the oceans continues at an alarming rate. Because travel is the largest industry in the world, traveling responsibly is key and there is a definite push from within the industry to use its power to do good and not contribute to the growing problem.
  • The single most important thing travelers can do is listen. Global Sojourns has always believed this is essential in learning about and experiencing the world outside your neighborhood.
  • The newest hotspot to visit in the world is Kurdistan...anyone interested?

  • Great hiking and horseback riding, right outside your chalet door
  • Just one hour from a ski resort!

Having a trusty pair of Teva shoes and a rolling carry-on recently helped Priscilla successfully sprint to catch a connecting flight and spend the night in her own bed instead of the hassle of checking into a hotel.

Make sure you catch your connecting flights with a pair of comfortable shoes... Good thing Teva is offering clients of Global Sojourns 15% off any online shoe purchase. Go to and enter the coupon code: GlobalSojourns to receive the discount through 12/31/2010.

Did you Know...

Two vacations a year can cut a person's risk of heart attack by 50%.

Yet despite the clear benefits of getting away, Americans take less time off than citizens of any other country in the industrialized world. About 1/3 of Americans don't use all of the days that they are allotted.
