Tanzania

Tanzania

Known for:

  • The Great Migration
  • Ngorongoro Crater
  • Mt. Kilimanjaro

We suggest you visit:

  • The Serengeti
  • Tarangire
  • Lake Manyara
  • Arusha National Park
  • Zanzibar

And for those who like to get to more remote areas…

  • Lake Natron
  • Lake Eyasi
  • Selous
  • Ruaha
  • Katavi
  • Mahale Mountains
  • islands off of Zanzibar

Cool things to do:

  • Track chimpanzee in the Mahale Mountains!
  • Visit the lion research center in the Serengeti
  • Witness the migration in the Serengeti ( build in enough time to visit a couple of areas so you can be sure to see it)
  • Watch the big cats as they follow the game in the Serengeti (one of the best places to see lion)
  • Play soccer with Masai children
  • Kick back and watch the dhows go by from your seaside verandah in Zanzibar
  • Explore Stonetown- wander through the narrow alleys, see elaborately carved doorways and visit the old slave market
  • Climb Kilimanjaro (acclimatization is key so don’t fast track it!)
